Before coming to class:
1. Read book sections 0-1 to 0-4
2. Watch video on Scientific Method
3. Finish the PCB case study including, reading Krummel, 2003 an filling out the reading guide.  This will be turned in during class.
4. Take a crack at the Challenge Problem.

3. Complete the first 2.5 pgs (stop after Case 1) of the Statistics worksheet.
4.  Complete textbook Q’s 3-20, and climate change exercise.

Monday Sept 22, Application
Come to class ready to present a unique and interesting application of data treatment, statistics, quality control experiments, etc.  Presentations will be 2-4  minutes in length and describe an application (e.g., an analysis of the effectiveness of fire assay in determining Au content of ores), how it relates to data treatment, and why you think it is interesting.  Prizes will be given for the best application and presentation.
The remaining time will be used for review questions for the exam.
Due at the beginning of class:  Lab 2 annotated figure (see instructions)
Due after your presentation:
a 1 pg summary of the information contained in your presentation.  Including references if you used information from elsewhere.
