Prelab assignment: See weekly details below
Safety: Students must wear safety goggles at all times and gloves while handling acid. This procedure requires strong (6-16 M) nitric acid (MSDS- HNO3) that reacts with copper to form nitrogen (di)oxide (MSDS- NO; MSDS- NO2). Strong acids must be handled ONLY in the hood with the sash down. Flush immediately with water if contact occurs and inform TA or professor.
